What's worst?
This or the Star Wars Holiday Special?
sharethe star wars special in my opinion. g:80 was fun in a good way, but star wars fun in a bad way. but both can be watched if you accept them as they are for their times they came from.
shareThat's a really hard question. G80 was so incredibly cheesy. But I think I'll vote for SWHS for the worst. I have many reasons, but one of the biggest is that no English is spoken for the first 20 minutes--only Wookie.
shareIt has to be G80. Why? Because I remember it when it aired. BG had been canceled, and we THOUGHT we were getting it back. The expectations were high, that we were actually getting Battlestar Galactica! Not this complete POS. Even as a 13 year old, it sucked balls compared to the original. Had to be aimed at 6 year olds.
Nobody went into SWHS thinking it was something that was going to be good. And it didn't destroy the franchise for nearly 35 years.
The only thing G80 was missing that would have made it even worse was Ted McGinley.
They both make me want to masturbate with sandpaper.

G:1980 is worse. And ONLY because G:1980 had potential with some of its concepts, which were glossed over or ignored in favor of mindless theatrics aimed at 5 year-olds.
To compare, SWHS had absolutely nothing -- except for being a cheap cash-in for the creator of it, with all the actors looking high and understandably so...
I like the 2 leads in Galactica 1980, the rest are z-list character actors and kids. I figured Battlestar Galactica learned their lesson by reducing Boxey & Daggitt. But seriously, I just didn't know what to make of Galactica 1980. I couldn't make out their target audience - the same can be said for the original, but at least in those there was a clearer mission.
Star Wars holiday - much like Kiss Meets the Phantom, was a product very specific for it's day. It was cheesy when it came out but it was a harmless TV movie at a time when people didn't get to watch Star Wars on a DVD every day.
Galactica 1980 was worse for being more than a 2-hr movie.
A child is in charge, this just stepped off the deep end.
Wasn't me
The SW holiday special was like old guard Hollywood trying to put a show on based on "new Hollywood", who weren't even based in Hollywood at all.
I missed the Holliday special when it aired. And after seeing it on YouTube, all I can say is I'm glad I missed it.
Holiday Special = 2 hours of pain with about 10 minutes of Boba Fett relief.
BSG: 80 = 11 hours of pain with about 1 hour of Starbuck relief.
80 is worse because there is more pain! 😨
