The Baseball Furies

Yep -- They have the iconic visual thing going. And there is something about how they loomed and never said a word. It was scary......plus there are a lot people who get freaked out by clowns out there.

I agree with the above, it's the iconic visual.

At least part of the appeal is the bold look but tbh a bigger factor has to be assuming a lot of people won't get it so it's kind of different and 'cool' and obscure.

Because surely the first thought of anyone who has seen the movie is Ajax sneering "I'm gonna shove that bat up your ass and turn you into a popsicle"

The Furies sucked. They had thirteen guys with bats who got wrecked by four unarmed Warriors.

Robert Townsend claimed he was un-credited as one of the Furies. I can't figure out which Furie was Townsend. There were about five Furies who looked like they were leading the pack. And there were about eight Furies running close behind them. Townsend must have been one of the guys in the back. Or he was joking.

I was young when I first watched The Warriors, and The Furies' leader freaked me out so they stood out. For a moment it became a horror movie. Too bad they got beat up so easily.

I like the way they selected their individual bats as they headed up the steps of their underground hideout. When they got to the street one of them took a practice swing like he was getting ready to step up to the plate.

Yes, I think it was the way they were presented.

The music also played a large part in making the Furies good. The chase sequence was well done and the music fit the scene very well. The entire sequence was exciting and well put together.

I kept wondering what would be going through the neighbors' heads whenever the Furies were on the street.
