shareWell really, "dig it" or "can you dig it?" sounds way behind the times for the late 70s. It was played out before the early 70s gave way to the mid 70s.
It's the only part of the movie that makes me cringe at the corniness.
i dont find it corny or cringy , if someone said it now i'd be like "oh , they used that 70s phrase . cool"

Well, but all "70s" was not some monolithic decade when it came to culture and tastes. What was in vogue in '72 would be trite by '78-'79.
As it is, "can you dig it" sounds more like something 'Greg Brady' would say than what the leader of a vicious street gang would.
