Childhood fear

I remember long ago that I was afraid to leave the curtains or blinds open on the windows as a child when it was nighttime. I was afraid that either Ralphie or Danny Glick would come flying up begging me to let them in. Also, I made a cross from my mom's finger nail files just like Ben did at the hospital before being attacked by Marjorie Glick.

Did you alter behavior in any way as a child or adult because of this movie?

No. I remember being frightened by a few movies when I was a kid, and having nightmares, but that's it. Besides, I first saw this movie when I was in my 30's.

In your 30s? That's probably why it doesn't have the same effect on you as a lot of the rest of us. I first saw it when I was 6, and I believe Stones was 9.
I bet most of the people that go crazy over it where in those age ranges when they first saw it.

Yes that is probably the reason. FTR, I am in my mid-60's now.

I can't think of anything specific, but the film made me feel that kids CAN be killed too, and I was 9 when I first saw it. I also recall being bothered how the cross did nothing to Barlow, being a young Catholic boy then.

I had a strange feeling about the cross not working as well. If Callahan tried to go back on his deal with Barlow then he was being deceitful, which would thus nullify the effect.

I would sleep in a coffin in my bedroom as a kid. This way if a vampire did come into my bedroom, he would already assume I was a vampire. I'm surprised you never thought of that
