finally got my Blu-ray

I finally got my Blu-ray copy and watched it last night. I loved the video quality it was a real step up to me. Also I liked the commentary but it lacked imo a second person with Hooper. If David soul or another actor were there they could've got some banter going.

Mirrors my own thoughts and I mentioned the lack of detail regarding the comm track in my review. Picture quality is improved but the blue hue seems to have been removed either by design or by accident. It's more apparent during Barlows scenes.

It's all a deep end.

reply

what were some of the interesting comments from Hooper, especially Barlow?

reply

I don't recall him even mentioning Barlow.

reply

that's brutal, if that's the case

reply

Well, he might have mentioned how wonderful Reggie Nalder was to work with. That's about it.

reply

He does mention Barlow, and talks of how he didn't want a typical "human" looking vampire as he felt that was already covered with Straker. He wanted a Nosferatu type vampire, and discusses how Reggie Nalder had the Nosferatu look even without the makeup, haha.

reply

I got mine last week. I agree with you both.

I am not a fan. I just happen to enjoy movies. Fans are embarrassing.

reply

Overall I'm very happy with it.
For many years I only wished for a Blu-ray I never really thought it would happen

reply

I have had the DVD for as long as I can remember. I figured it would eventually come to Bluray, but I also figured it would be bare-bones with no features. Well, I was really happy that this included the commentary. I will take whatever I can get regarding Salem's Lot!
