The full version of this movie really needs to be released on Blu-ray.

You should contact Image Entertainment/Studio Canal. They were the last ones who released it on DVD.

Yes, but they released the chopped version. It's irritating that the full version hasn't been released. I wonder if it's a rights issue.

Most likely. The shorter version was released as a theatrical feature in Europe, and the longer version was a TV movie in America.

Yes I know.

There are generally one of three reasons something doesn't get released:

1) Rights
2) Consumer interest
3) Lack of source

Consumer interest would be low for a TV movie from the 70s. But the DVD was released, so...

Someone involved might be throwing a fit. Maybe one of the stars will be owed royalties and they're being persnickety.

Or, maybe they can't find the whole thing. Maybe the only source that's available is the cut version. I had some contacts try searching for a good copy of the complete version to replace the VHS-from-TV that I have. The contacts searched archives and such. But they weren't able to find anything.

As far as releasing it on Blu-Ray, though...let's be realistic. Do we really want to see Beverly Ross in HD?
