Should i rent this?

It is possible for me to rent this film. I'm a Miyazaki fan but i've never heard of Lupin and i believe this is the second film in the series. Is there any point of renting it?

reply

Hell yes. I'm fairly certain you'll want to buy it after seeing it. It's a wonderful film.

So i'm going to have to turn this opportunity yes. It doesn't matter that i don't know anything about Lupin then?

reply

No. I did'nt. And yes, it's a great movie.

"According to urban legend, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas are great fans, who consider Cagliostro one of the greatest adventure films ever made." I agree.

The supposed quote from Spielberg is on the box to the DVD itself, actually. Haven't heard about Lucas.

The Spielberg thing is an old urban legend, where supposedly Lucas showed him Cagliostro at the Skywalker Ranch, and it inspired them when they were making Raiders of the Lost Ark. I've never confirmed whether or not that story was true, but it probably doesn't matter. Being devoted action-adventure filmmakers, it's a safe bet that Spielberg and Lucas have long been fans of Miyazaki.

reply

Yes, defineatly see Cagliostro. You dont have to have any knowledge of the Lupin tv series or movies to enjoy this movie

Just know that:
Lupin=thief
Jigen=Lupin's partner in crime
Fujiko=Lupin's ex lover who *sometimes* helps him with his capers
Goemon=Lupin's stoic swordsman friend they call in times of need
Zenigata=Interpol officer who wants to capture Lupin with a passion

She doesnt quite chop his head off. She makes a Pez Dispenser out of him-Dwight(Sin City)

Cheers for the summary, that helped. I watched it and thought it was a good film.
