Dub on New DVD?

Hi,

I was just curious if the English dub on this new release is the same dub as the one on the previous Manga Video release, the "Streamline" dub, or an entirely new recording. I ask this because I personally really enjoy the existing dub and don't know if I'd upgrade if it was not the dub from the Manga release.

I am also somewhat confused about the difference of the two existing dubs. From what I gather, what I have seen many call the "Streamline" dub is the version in which Lupin is referred to as "The Wolf" and was released some time in the late 1980s. The other dub is the one on the previous DVD release and has David Hayter as the voice of Lupin. If someone could confirm these two facts for me, it would help clear a lot up.

Lastly, for anyone who owns both versions of the DVD that have been released, do you think it is worth buying the new version? This is quite possibly my favorite Miyazaki film (or any anime for that matter), but since the extras don't seem especially tempting, I guess I'm asking if the picture/sound quality is significantly improved to warrant a re-purchase.

Thanks!

If your talking about the new Optimun ASIA release, then I just got it.

Its been years since I last saw this movie, but the voices sound the same to me as the previous dub. Bob Bergen is doing the voice of Wolf. (at least im certain its him - he sounds a lot like Mark Hamill :P)

The video and audio quality is quite good. I dunno if its worth buying again if you already have it though. Id say probably not.

I first saw this movie in japanese with english subtitles and it was awsome. After seeing it in nothing but english, I definetly have to say that the dub is terrible, I mean to say that it made the whole movie experience suck, thats how bad the voice acting from the new dvd is. Watch it in its original form with japanese voice acting.
