That happens a lot in Lupin's case, whether be the anime series or full features.
There have been several occasions where a young and possibly virgin woman crosses paths with Lupin, he inevitably falls for her innocent charms, fights for her life and ends up leaving her in the end (guilty conscience, maybe?).
That goes as far as the 3rd episode of the 1st series: "Farewell My Beloved Witch" of 1971.
I believe the inner joke is that there is truly only one woman in Lupin's life and that's Fujiko: she's a total bitch but they are simply destined for each other, in the end.
