Mmmmmhhh...... doesn't seem much to me, not from the mangas I read anyway.
Certainly the closest thing I know are some of the earlier episodes of the green jacket series , they were much grittier and 'adult' in tone, therefore closer to Monkey Punch manga's spirit, as well as having stories directly adapted from it. share
