Are kids worse now?

I think so

I was 11 when this movie came out and could have been a slightly younger version of Carl. As I got into my teens in the early 80's the first 3/4 of the movie could have been biographic

Still we partied a lot and while there was the occasional boxing match, noone ever got killed, the whole drunken date rape thing was rare, and few if any of us turned out to be criminal thugs.

The average kid didn't go to juvenile hall, and teenage pregnancy happened but it was still rare. All in all I think we handled things much better than the movie portrayed. When you compare that time to now, where kids get shot over rap songs, and the average girl is a welfare broodmare, and the average boy is an effeminate whiner, I think we did pretty well.

The "new kids on the block" are taught that someone owes them something, also most teenagers have ADHD (51%). The government loves these kids.

I think so too. I was nine when this came out and my friends and I were completely in love with the delinquency of the kids in this. They basically became our heroes up through junior high. :-)

But I don't think there's any doubt kids are much worse these days. More guns. More drugs. But as far as drugs go, I think it's mostly due to the abundance of heavy drugs these days. Clyde took speed, but that's nothing compared to meth, or even special k & ghb. Those are all much more dangerous and addictive than speed or acid.

I'm worse now.

i dunno man, the riot scene in this and the last scenes in project x aint that much different! i live in UK so we dont have kids running round with guns which is a bonus. did kids in the states go on school shooting sprees back then too or is that a new thing?

Kids are a million times worse now all that *beep* rap (crap) music they listen to and most kids have no respect for other people or other peoples property they are so destructive. I think nowadays it's way worse. They all need a boot in their ass and to get the *beep* beat out of them maybe then they won't think their so tough. Its funny when u see a kid act like such a badass then when they get caught they cry like babies. I think each generation just gets worse and worse.

I would say it's worse today, cause theres way more people in the world, and no ones afraid of anything. specially the police. Back in my day early 80's, we had more respect for adults,, not any more.. its all law suites and no fear...

Nope, think they act rather sedated actually & apathetic. People don't change only the technology we have to express the worst part of ourselves. Also hasn't every single generation said yes? My father form he greatest generation said his father thought they were degenerates haha.
