Soundtrack

Damn, I wish they would release the superb soundtrack score to this film. It's hauntingly awesome... (and it did win a Genie award). It's a lot more deserving of a release than some of the bland-tat that gets passed off as music in films these days...

Your right, this is a great soundtrack. Not only is it not available today but it was never even released on vinyl. But don't worry, the soundtrack to 'The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift' will be readily available.

The tune that Holmes plays at the end of the film is particularly memorable - it sounds like a genuine folk tune, but I don't think it is.

"Woof. In tones of low menace"

Director commentary on the DVD refers to it as "a Scottish lullaby."

Agreed. The music is haunting and beautiful. I love this movie and watch it at least once a month.

It's a shame that the DVD is mono only. It's very good mono, but a 5.1 re-working with an isolated score would make me quiver. RIP Bob Clarke. What he did with a nothing budget on this film... sigh.

IMO, the best Holmes film there is.

reply

I can't I can't decide between this one and THE PRIVATE LIFE OF SHERLOCK HOLMES. I really love them both.

reply

Im with ya they're both great Holmes films.

reply

I was disappointed in PRIVATE LIFE, truth be told.
