What's Your Favourite Ripper Literary Pastiche?
Murder by Decree is excellent, mainly because of the wonderful interplay between Plummer and Mason.
However I have a slight inclination towards the other 1979 Ripper pastiche, this time involving HG Wells 'Time After Time'.
A completely different concept. It's a bit messy and there's no mystery to be solved, and yet it's more compelling somehow. Every scene between Malcolm MacDowell (Wells) and David Warner (The Ripper) is brilliant.
