Ick people actually eat frogs legs?

I know it is a delicacy in France but I still think it is sick for Doc Hopper wanting Kermit to be in a commercial for frogs legs, it is just too disturbing, when i saw this at age 7 I thought it was really creepy.

reply

Frog legs are really tasty.

Sorry Kermit.

reply

Me too! I found it extremely disturbing as a child. That and the "brain mushing" device.

reply

this was scary to me as a little kid too. I had nightmares about this.

reply

Every time I see them in the frozen food section I think about this movie, and Kermit's "All I can see is thousands of frogs hopping on little crutches".

reply

I remember saying this very thing to my Grandma and she got all defensive and acted like I was nuts for not wanting to eat frog legs. Apparently her brother, my Great Uncle likes to eat them too. To each their own. At the same time I don't want to eat Turtles, Octopie, or star fish.

reply

Don’t knock it ‘til you try it.

reply

I'm not going to try them. Not to mention I don't think there are any restaurants nearby me that have them.

reply

Why not...we eat chicken wings...ask yourself, what's the difference?

reply

Somehow it seems more normal to eat Chickens or cows to me than it does to eat things like amphibians, reptiles, or sea life. But that's just me.

reply

It's what you are used to and how you were brought up, same as everyone else.

But it's an interesting question as to why we as a species consider certain animals fair game for killing, cooking and eating, and yet others are considered either disgusting or even cute and adorable and are kept as pets.

reply

I guess you have a point. I did once eat a Squirrel.

reply

How was it?

reply

It tasted good but probably only cause it was fried.

reply

You should give fried frog legs a try if you ever come across. You might end up hating them but it never hurts to at least try.

reply

I've tried them once. Surprisingly similar in taste to chicken but much tougher meet.
