Is this at all worth watching?

Just glanced at some of the reviews and thread topics for this and it seems people have really slated this (one of them said "Worst sequel ever"). I love American Graffiti, obviously this wouldn't quite compare to that, but is there any entertainment or interest in watching it or is it a true waste of time? Any good car action or other good bits? Try and be fair and don't just say how much you think it sucks in the way an original Star Wars fan might about the prequels.

IMO it doesn't hold a candle to the original film. There are four stories going on here and two of them (Milner and The Toad) I liked and two of them (Steve/Laurie and Debbie) I didn't like at all. There is some good racing footage and the soundtrack is nearly as impressive as that of the original film. Give it a shot. It's not the worst two hours you will ever spend but it won't be the best either.

Turns out LOVEFILM (my online rental company) doesn't have it. I don't know if it got a proper UK DVD release. Maybe it'll come on TV some time.

I've seen worse sequels. Like jrs-8 said. Worth watching but not like the original.
Milner & Toad's stories were the best.

It's not the best sequel, but it's worth watching.

If you care about the characters and would like to know what happened to them (as I did), it is definitely worth it. I ended up loving the film. It's more dark than the other one. I really don't think it's a bad sequel at all, just maybe a tad hard to follow.

I saw this when it first came out and will say that it's not all bad. The Vietnam sequence with Terry the Toad is by far the best and the only one that really works. I didn't like the split screen format with Carol and Debbie at all nor did I like the one with Steve and Laurie. The race car sequence is all right. Overall, it's not terrible but very uneven.
