funny
I really liked this one, at least the first ones. After that it just got sillier and sillier.

shareYeah, Lemon Popsicle is a great underrated movie. I see it as Israel's answer to American Grafitti, although it's not quite on that level of nostalgia.
Going Steady seems to be a sequel in name only to me. Lemon Popsicle had such a powerful ending I was interested to see how they would follow it. I was very dissapointed.
Hot Bubblegum is even worse. It's like Bobbi, Benji and Nikki all forgot the situation they were in during the first movie and were all best pals!
Private Popsicle is awful! No two ways about it. The first scene is nothing more than a cheap imitation of the original and it's a dire excuse for comedy.
Baby Love is probably the best of the sequels for me. I know it doesn't match up to the original, but it was mildly funny and entertaining.
As for Up Your Anchor and Young Love. What the hell were they about?!! They both made Private Popsicle seem like a work of art.
By the way have you seen The Last American Virgin? It's a carbon copy of Lemon Popsicle word-for-word and shot-by-shot and it generated a lot of discussion on its board, making me even more surprised about the lack of threads on this board. I asked if anyone there is aware of Lemon Popsicle, but so far I've got no replies.
Btw, if someone doesnt know originally in Hebrew, the three guys's names were: Yudale(the fat guy), Bentzi(shirt for BenZion)the romantic one and Momo the handsome one.
Well, I know that Lemon Popsicle(Eskimo Limon)is one of the best movies out of the 7 that were made, it's known mostly for the Stella(I don't know what her name was in English), that the three of them went to and Momo got layed with her when the rest of them got to pick through the door. She's the one that everybody loved in the movie.
About the ending I can say I didn't like it, it was too sad and to serious. It's not a comedy ending, no good, and that girl in my opinion acted like a real bitch.
The second movie; "Steady Dating". did not have much sex in it, so it was kind of dissppoint.
The third one "Hot Bubblegum"(Pleasant Rubbing), was fun and the sexiest and one of the funniest scenes was when they when to the piano teacher.
The forth one Private Popsicle, was the best and the funniest of them all, that what everybody say.
The fifth "Tiny Affair" was good, a bit boring, cause Bentzi did not have sex with momo's sister. But the Dentist part was good.
The sixth movie was cute about how they went to Italy on the ship and stuff but to bad that Momo wasn't with them.
The seventh movie had a funny scene in it, that included this Russian dude and Yudale, it was an awsome scene, but the rest of the movie was kinda dumb they tryed to copy Private Popsicle and it didnt work out, Bentzi and Momo wasn't even there.
Btw, there was a movie of the same director Boaz Davidson that was also a little bit copyed from the Eskimo Limon movies. It was called "Alex Sick Of Love" and it was about a bit younger kids than in the Eskimo Limon but still it was a bit similar.
I wouldn't compare this one to "American Graffiti"...the storyline is virtually identical to "Fast times at Ridgemont High", with the abortion and everything. I think that there is another American adaptation of this film, which is dead on, but I'm not sure of the name. Anyone have any suggestions?
Its an excellent movie and i remember it being a classic in Germany.
The Last American Virgin is the movie you are thinking of. Its an almost shot for shot remake of Lemon Popsicle and was made by the same director Boaz Davidson.

kinda long time since that message but i must say.
if you lived in israel, you could understand it and everything in it.
in israel this movie and sapihes is maybe the biggest nostalgia or in the top 10 of the hebrew movies.
The Last American Virgin is a remake made by the same creator of the eskimo limon (english name is lemon popsicle) but only for the americans, so they can understand all the jokes and others in it.
Yeah there were a few funny parts but then the movie got pretty depressing.I thought the second one was the best, the third one was good too.The fourth was dissapointing but still funny. The fifth one was great!
