Do you think that any of the 3 escapees

Could be alive today? If so Frank Morris would be 90, John 86 and Clarence 85.
I think that there's a good chance that maybe at least one of them could be alive today.
There is quite a few people who live to be quite old but there is a lot of people that don't live to be that old either...

I have thought about it a lot and if they were caught what would be the point of putting them back in prison? its like when they catch old nazis. There is a saying that justice delayed is justice denied, they have had so many decades of freedom.

Imagine being Frank Morris and actually WATCHING THE MOVIE seeing himself portrayed by Clint Eastwood, that would be trippy.

I like to imagine that they all kind of just laid low and lived quiet simple lives with altered identities maybe after fleeing to another country.

Legally their case stays open (I saw this on a National Geographic special) until they are 100 since so few people live longer than that.

I'd like to think 3 criminals drowned rather than enjoying freedom

They grew up during the hardship of the Depression and never killed or seriously harmed anyone. Their escape was non violent and there’s no indication they committed any crimes as free men on the run(assuming they made it).

But leave it to a glutton for punishment to wish death on them.

reply

My mom and her entire family grew up during the hardship of the Depression, and were very poor, but not one of them ever committed a felony, or would have used their social and financial status as an excuse to have done so.

But those guys who escaped from Alcatraz apparently never killed or raped anybody, so I'm for giving them the benefit of "time served", as long as they got their shit together and quit committing crimes.

reply

Yes Many people didn’t commit crimes. But Crime did increase amongst the poorest Americans during the Depression.

Reports are they went to Brazil/Argentina. If they really did make it there…it doesn’t seem they committed any crimes.

reply

Those are just whacky conspiracy theories that some TV shows profited on

reply

They could have still committed crimes in whichever country they went too. Maybe they did and served time/escape from prison again under whichever alias they were using.

reply

Probably not because Interpol was a thing in the 1960’s and their finger prints were on file. They’d be found out.

reply

There was a rumour that a guy who looked like Morris was seen on a tour of Alcatraz. I rather hope they did get away!

reply

i wish they make it but someone saw body out at sea wearing prison uniform the same day they escape.

waters was too cold to make it.

they needed someone to pick them up or makeshift raft.

reply

They had a makeshift raft. And homemade lifejackets.
