Anybody else scared by the undead Mina?

Is there anybody else who thinks that the scene with the undead Mina in the mines walking towards Van Helsing with open arms and chanting "Poppa, komme mit mir. Komme, poppa!" was horrifying?
This scene scared the hell out of me and almost gave me nightmares.

1979 proved to be a BAD year for my then 9 year old self. My parents took me to see "Alien" at the theaters (which freaked me out)...and this movie as well. For the most part, as a kid, I thought this was a so-so movie (I found the vampire from "Salem's Lot" to be way more terror inducing) & couldn't get over the overly poofy hair of Dracula. This scene, with Mina, did creep me out though.

I too, was 10 years old when this came out. My teenage stepsister took me to see it with her friends late night at the theater. Don't remember who got us in but when Mina appeared i hid my face with my hands in shock and horror, then peaked through my fingers. Scared the crap out of me! And i've loved this movie ever since.

Yes this was the creepiest scene in the whole movie.
Reminded me of the scene in "House Of Dark Shadows" where the young boy encounters his dead
sister Carolyn coming back from the dead as a vampire.
Watching that as a young kid really creeped me out.

One thing to add is that in this movie it was Lucy not Mina who Dr.Van Helsing encountered below the cemetary.
In the original novel by Bram Stoker it was Lucy Westenra who came back as a vampire.
She was referred to as the "Bloofer Lady" by some of the locals in the area that she haunted.
She attacked some of the local children and drank their blood as vampires are wont to do.

History will be kind to me for I intend to write it.

You are right about Lucy in the novel but in this film it was not Lucy who Van Helsing encounters but Mina.

Her eyes were the most disturbing part. They looked like blood red marbles.

Saw it on HBO for the first time in '81 or '82 and it scared the hell out of my 10 year old body lol. I would always have to cover my eyes on repeat viewings. Loved the movie then and now!

This remains to this day, one of the reasons I love this film. It DID give me nightmares as a child, and still creeps me out today.
