Real tribes?
Were the cannibals filmed in this movie an actual tribe ? What is the tribe called and are they really cannibals?

shareIn Fenton, Grainger and Castoldi's Cannibal Holocaust and the Savage Cinema of Ruggero Deodato, Deodato claims that the tribes did in fact practice cannibalism. The thing is, historically, cannibalism isn't the rare and obscure thing we make it out to be. It existed, but at the same time, people did not constantly kill one another for food. I think cannibalism tended to exist between tribes, and was practiced as a source of nutrition for people who didn't have easy, instant, and convenient access to food.
shareCannibalism in these tribes isn't exactly how its decpited in horror films. They don't go after people and attack them and eat them. They eat the remains of dead people ( who have died natural causes, ageing etc). Usually cook their bones and meat and mix it with something else.
