Cannibal Genocide

That would have been a more appropriate title. I feel like I got the point the film was trying to make, but Holocaust is obviously a specific term for the genocide of Jewish people and Romanis. I picked up on the point of the film being the attempted genocide of indigenous people deemed "cannibals" and "savages." People think this film was about the troubles of humanity but I saw it as a criticism of Manifest Destination and how so many white people go to developing countries to "save" indigenous people they call "primitive" when they really cause more harm and trauma to the women and children there. And that was what was so horrific about this film to me. How terrible those filmmakers were and the disregard they had for human life. This movie to me wasn't as hard to watch as it was processing it afterwards.

They do? What “troubles of humanity”?

Did you not watch the whole movie? Did you not see the end where the professor spells it all out with cheesy obviousness by saying “I wonder who the real cannibals are?”?

It could have been called the Green Inferno, too….hmmmm I wonder why they didn’t think of that.

Hint: burning has something to do with the title.
