Willard’s Band Aid/plaster
It seems to appear sometime during the Kilgore scene, but I didn’t see when he obtained the injury. Is it explicitly shown in any of the versions?
shareaccording to special feature on the blu-ray i have, martin sheen fell and hurt his face during rehearsing or shooting the scene, so they patched his wound with band aid and decided to just keep it. but there's no footage of him getting hurt in either versions of the film.
