Did she think George was the killer just cause he looked like Ronald DeFeo?

I guess. Not sure why that was the giveaway for her. It's a '70s movie, got to have someone rushing at the end. I'm not even sure why she was so far away in the first place. If it was because he hit her, she would have taken the kids too and not left them for plot convenience.

Yes, she saw the DeFeo picture and he looked just like George or vice versa. That scared her to the point where she hurried home, probably fearing for her children's safety.
