This would be a huge, huge hit given the current financial climate.
Updating and refurbishing this thing with a real script and passable directing (a la The Onion News Network) would turn this thing into a blockbuster.
I was just thinking about this movie recently and thinking the same thing -- that this movie needs to be remade. I'm not sure if it would be a huge theatrical release, tho, considering fewer people are willing to shell out $10 for movies these days.
