After Roy Scheiders character had his second heart attack CCh Pounder asked Scheider's ex to write out a check to her. The ex-wife then becomes upset and hits her.
Was Pounder's character paid by Scheider to kill him? Or was she paid by the investors of the show?
The nurse shrugs off his symptoms when he is having his second attack - she ignores her pleadings to get a doctor "but that's impossible - I just gave him his medication..."
Later, during his wife's grief - she is talking $$ - and she takes strong offense to that.

This could be my chance to bond and become a valued member of the family
I always assumed that Pounder was a private nurse hired by Audrey to watch Joe 24/7 and apparently was derelect in her duties, especially when Joe was in pain and she wouldn't give him anymore medication because it wasn't time.
