After George (Dudley Moore), sees Jennifer (Bo Derek) in the limo and can't stop thinking about her, he goes to see his psychiatrist and tells him about the most beautiful girl he's ever seen and the shrink asks how he would rate her on a scale of 1 to 10 and George says she was an 11. His psychiatrist reminds George that he said in the past that there is no such thing as a 10. I guess that's what the film is about...the search for perfection, the pointless, fruitless search for perfection because there is no such thing. George Webber has a life that most of us would envy...money, fame, a gorgeous home, a gorgeous girlfriend (Julie Andrews), but he's still not happy, because everything is not perfect. Jennifer symbolizes his seach for perfection (which also turns out to be an illusion), a perfect "10" of a woman and of a life.
