'10' as a Title: Double Entendre?

After several viewings, it only just occurred to me that in addition to being a reference to female beauty, "10" could be a tribute to the idea of "Taking 10," as in a short break. (In one of Samantha's rehearsals, somebody calls out "Everybody take ten," which cued me in to this.) George Webber's odyssey IS, in fact, a break -- from reality, from work, from the fact of getting older.

Anyone?

There, daddy, do I get a gold star?

reply

Certainly a possibility--I hadn't thought of it. Good catch.

Brilliant. You're probably right.

Well thought out. Good answer.

reply

Sure, why not.

reply

Right - like he had to "take 10" and figure some things out down there in Mexico. Good call.

reply

Except the saying is usually "Take five"

reply

That's true, but in the movie, when Julie Andrews is rehearsing, the director instructs everyone to take 10.
