I was watching an episode the other day where Terry had to mind an antiques shop where the owner was gay and they kept calling homesexuals "irons" and I can't work it out. Any cockneys out there that can help?

iron = 'iron hoof' = 'poof'
('poof' being a general slang word for an effeminate man)
