'Done a Sainbury's'?? Slang?

waht does that mean? I'm supposed to know what that means with being a Londoner - but I don't - I know Arthur mentioned it, and then in another episode, Terry (I think it was him) said; "What's all that 'sainsbury's' about..."

Looked it up, didn't find anything, it was probably made up by George Cole.

"The World is Your Lobster My Son!"-Arthur Daley, Minder.

Thanks for that anyway sfordcar!

It could be:

'Done a Sainbury's' = 'Done a runner"?

I do believe it means talk, chat, rabbit (rabbit'n'pork = talk) - as in "you've got more rabbit than Sainsbury's". It's like rhyming slang, twice removed!

You're right! I just remembered that song by Chas and Dave, 'Rabbit'. One of the lines in the song is 'you got more rabbbit than Sainsbury's'.
:D

When I heard his line I immediately thought of the C 'n' D tune but if that is indeed the case, does it make sense in the context of what Arthur says?

Without hearing the full conversation I can't say for definite, but "done a Sainsbury's" might mean either saying too much (blabbing) or being "all mouth and trousers", ie all talk.
