Hi im 18 and i not long ago started watching Minder, im a big Only Fools And Horses fan. And when i just watched first Minder series i loved it. It is very similar to OFAH that must be why i like Minder so much. Anyway the question i wanted to ask is im going to buy another Minder series and i wanted to know from you Minder fans what would the next best one would be to watch ?? or should i just work my way through it in order ?? thanks.

Minder is way better then OFAH in my opinion, I would work your way through the episodes as you can see the character development and buy the Complete and Uncut DVD's from Australia!

Have you bought the Complete and Uncut editions from Austrailia? The British releases are awful! Series 5 and 6 are probably the best!

There is someone on eBay who has some Australian editions, for help on what they look like go on the www.minder.org website and click on Buy Minder DVDs on the left side, there are also commentaries, and more special features!

For me the first three series represent Minder at its peak. Out of those Series Two is probably my favourite - many terrific episodes in there such as Whose Wife Is It Anyway, National Pelmet, A Nice Little Wine & The Beer Hunter. Of course if you started watching the show later into its run - or after Terry left - you'll likely have a very different perception of Minder. It really did change quite dramatically after Series Three.

It became more comedy then Drama after Series 3 I think because Arthur became the more popular character and his dodgy deals were what people wanted to see!

I've just been catching up on series 5, and while the McCann/Daley/Chisholm/Dave chemistry is still worth the price of admission, it seems it drifted into a tired 'write a story round the guest star' formula, and some of the plotting was thinner than Chisholm's hair. But George Cole was a class act, and like Leonard Rossiter in 'Rising Damp' could kid you that the dodgiest material was pure gold. It'll be interesting to see what modern scriptwriting techniques do to the franchise.

Although Arfur made it his own, definitely it wasn't the same without Dennis Waterman as Terry,(Those series) but I'm sure you've heard THAT before!
