Your first encounter...

I have only just seen 'Minder' and have fallen in love with it after just one episode. I can't wait to see more on ITV4. It was the episode 'Whose Wife is it Anyway?'.

Do you remember the first episode you saw? And what did you think of it!

Did anyone watch it from the very beginning when it was released?

I think I saw "Gunfight At The OK Laundrette" when it first aired in Canada. I watched from my first episode on. Only got the Dennis Waterman episodes, plus "Minder On The Orient Express".

I think it was "The Bengal Tiger" for me on Paramount Comedy a few years ago, love it now and have all the complete and uncut dvd's from Australia.

Theres a couple of Australian shops you can get them from such as Sanity, play4me and ezydvd, just search for them and you should find them. They also pop up on eBay from time to time.

I used to watch the Dennis Waterman ones through my dad's recorded copies, first 'live' one i watched would have been Ray's first one (the Wedding episode).

The first episode I watched was back in the summer of 1999 when I was at university. It was The Birdman of Wormwood Scrubs and it was shown on the now defunct Granada Plus channel. I love it straight away, especially the use of London locations many of which I recognised. Granada Plus showed aired an episode a day so I spent a glorious summer holiday watching a new episode a day of this classic series. Happy days!

I watched them when they were originally broadcast back in Australia.

I believe they were shown on the ABC so there were never any advert breaks.

I bought the whole series in various DVD box sets a long time ago (2001). I also have the four specials on two DVD releases ('Early Years Bonus' and 'Around The Corner' on one disc and 'An Officer and a Car Salesman' and 'The Cruel Canal' on the second disc).
