ray winstones arnie cracks me up especially in that episode where he's meant to bring a jag but brings a tow truck and he has on a bow tie on.

Two excellent guest stars were the much under-rated Richard Griffiths in the episode where Terry had to 'mind' a pop stars mansion, and Richard Griffiths was the ecentric long lost brother.
The other was Lionel Jeffries as a batty old codger who rode around on a motorbike. Class acts the pair of them.................back in the day when the show WAS excellent viewing before it turned into The Arthur Daley show

Quite funny when Robbie describes The Syrup as "Non-descript, a face in the crowd!!!"

From the classic episode "What Makes Shammy Run"

reply

mike reid was brilliant as the permanently hungry minder Vernon.

reply

I liked Jimmy Nail in it when he says to Terry, "Son id fight 10 your size".

reply

Another classic was Phil McCall as Scotch Harry

"Ah did the bizzo!"

and Candy Davis in the same episode!!!

Jimmy Nail, Gary Holton and Ray Winstone.
Gary didn't do too much in his episode but I loved him as Wayne in AUfPet so it was great to see him in that. Likewise Jimmy (from Pet too) and Ray who appeared in a few Minders but only one episode of Pet.

"Oi, oi-wass the word then?"
"What's the what then?"
"How's it goin'?"

So many great guest stars. George Layton as Des ('I swear on Queens Park Rangers i had nothing to do with it') and Ray Winstone as Arnie were regular
'guests'
Best one - off for me though was the late , great, Pete Postlethwaite as Jack 'Oily' Wragg, in one of the best Minders ever ; Back In Good Old England.

"You're gonna need a bigger boat..."

Richard Griffiths was very funny in 'Dreamhouse.' Art Malik was also good in 'What Makes Shamy Run.'

I’d also put Mike Read as Vernon up there with the best episodes as well. Another favourite was Ronald Fraser as self-inflicted Sid. I used to know hapless blokes like that always trying to ingratiate themselves with the local villains.

reply

Sheila Ruskin in High Drains Pilferer too sexy for words!

reply

I really enjoyed Michael Kitchen as Maltese Tony in 'Fiddler on the Hoof'.

reply

Allan Corduner as Marty

I like minder....not seen all the episodes but I watched "Balance of Power" the other night.....fantastic episode about Arthur trying to be elected a counciler.

Some amazing little cameo's in this episode.

Nicholas Courtney - Gold bless "The Brigg" and UNIT

Michael Ripper - "Mister" Hammer

Lennard Pearce - "Granddad" and played a complete copy of him!

Clifford Rose - Secret Army's "Kessler"

Fantastic episode......saw the ending coming a mile off.....but made it all the better!

Star Trek: The Next Generation's Marina Sirtis in Aces High.

She only had a tiny role, but John Hurt's wife played a reporter in a leather mini-skirt who pays a brief visit to the lock-up (I think it was the otherwise awful Billy Connolly episode about religious phenomena).

She gets in to a red sports car outside and shows a fabulous pair of pins.

Yes, I looked her up after I wrote that yesterday - there's quite a few recent photos of her with John Hurt.
