I know this makes me sound sad but just spotted Peter Woodthorpe and Lennard Pearce in a Minder episode called 'Balance of Power'(1984). Peter played Reg Trotter in OFAH and Lennard was Grandad. What I found strange was that Lennard's appearance in Minder is 3 years after OFAH started. He would have been almost typecast as Grandad by then. Good episode though.
IIRC that was also Lennard Pearce last credited role, as I am sure he died not long afterwards (made me laugh when I saw it, as you would think he was effectively playing the same character in Minder).
Actually, actors to appear in both is not as rare as you would think......
Gwyneth Strong (Cassandra) appeared in a Minder episode in series 3 (3/4 years before appearing in OFAH)
Paul Barber (Denzil) also appeared in a episode in series 2 (about a year before he appeared in OFAH).
Them, along with Lennard are probably the main characters, as there have been a number of characters who have popped up here and there in a scene or two in both.
We watch Minder, or part of Minder, every morning with breakfast. Still makes us laugh after all these years. Most of the time the writing was very good. It's good fun spotting the faces!
Ive recently watched all he Minders on DVD and was surprised to see about 5 of the Auf Wiedersehen Pet lads in different episodes. Thats how sad i am.
Sue Holderness (Marlene) appeared in a 1984 episode, 'A Number of Old Wives Tales'. It also featured Gary Holton (Wayne in Auf Wiedersehen Pet) in a small role.
