Watching episode 1 right now, made in 1979, I was born in 1976, and this just shows how different the UK was 35 years ago... talking about "spades" and the only 3 black characters being three armed gang members...

Ah... if only the UK was still like it was back then... people could speak freely and make jokes without being worried about getting arrested...

Times have changed.. and not for the better...

they did a politically correct remake of porridge and it was *beep*
also the sweeney remake with that fat idiot ray winstone was also crap
Minder was awesome,very underrated

Show them.again, remake them.as before , ignore the complaints - I would!

minder was brilliant. i remember a few more black characters. There was the woman who helps with the telephones in the Sorry, Wrong Number episode for instance.

I don't see why not. The formula is simple enough and a good writer could adapt it for today. The real impossibility is finding a replacement for George Cole.
