I don't know if any Knots fans were aware, but Danielle Brisebois, who played Greg Sumner's daughter, Mary-Frances, in season 5, was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song. Brisebois and writing partner Gregg Alexander were nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song for the song Lost Stars from the film Begin Again.
Unfortunately, she lost to Common and John Legend for their song from Selma.

I just remembered that she played the little girl (I can't remember the character's name) who lived with Archie and Edith on the last couple of seasons of All in the Family.
I agree that it's too bad that she didn't win for Best Original Song. "Lost Stars" is a much better and prettier song than "Glory" from Selma. Also, Begin Again is a great movie and it should have been nominated for more Oscars.

Stephanie. She was the daughter of Edith's cousin, I believe. She was actually in the final season of All in the Family and all four seasons of the spin-off, Archie Bunker's Place.
She has since quit acting and is a professional songwriter. She's written songs for Paula Abdul, Clay Aiken, David Archuleta, Natasha Bedingfield, Greyson Chance, Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis, Kylie Minogue, Mandy Moore, New Radicals, Donna Summer and many others.
Ya, when I hear that name, I immediately think of the crappy last couple years of "All in the Family." I had almost forgotten she was on KL at all, cuz when I think of Sumner's daughter, I immediately think of the bitch who gets shot and then returns a season later as a diffrent character, Laura Palmer style.

Stacy Galina. She played Mary-Frances and her cousin Kate. However, KL did it before Twin Peaks with Lisa Hartman, who played the late Ciji Dunne and her look-alike Cathy Geary, which has an homage to the movie, Vertigo.
Wow, markgraisonsmoustache, you really didn't like Stacy Galina, huh? I liked both actresses in the role of Mary Francis. And as was already pointed out, not only did Knots have an actress in a dual role after being killed off once, it happened TWICE, and BOTH happened before Twin Peaks aired. I think someone at TP was a fan of KL, because not only did they rip off the Ciji/Cathy Geary and Mary Francis/Kate storylines, the episode where Ciji was killed in season 4, several years before TP even aired, always reminded me of Laura Palmer's death, with Ciji's blue, lifeless body washed up on the beach.
