Betsy Palmer "Ant Ginny" dead at 88

Betsy Palmer, who played Valene's 'Ant Ginny' in the eleventh season of "Knots Landing" passed away in Connecticut on Friday, May 29, 2015 at the age of 88.

'Ant Ginny' moved in with Valene and her kids that summer, sort of taking the place of Julie Harris' "Lilimae" character, Valene's mother who lived with her from 1983 -1987. (Harris left the show at the end of the 1987-88 season.)

but it was "Aunt Ginny," not "Ant Ginny." An ant is an insect, an aunt is a female relative.

Both Aunt Ginny and Liilamae or should I say the people who played them, lived to be a ripe old age.



I didn't like Aunt Ginny --- she was the "poor man's Lillimae."

I do remember and liked Palmer as Jason's mother, Mrs. Voorhies, in the original "Friday the 13th." She was the killer in that movie.

Sorry to hear of her passing.

Yeah Lillimae was the better of the two. I was sad when Lillmae left.


