Boss Hogg's car
For the little I've seen of the show I don't really remember even seeing it, so my question is did it also get destroyed on a regular basis or was it left untouched? Did Bo and Luke ever do anything to it?

shareBoss had a white caddy convertible and no, the Dukes didn't do anything to it. Boss usually had a driver but occasionally he would drive himself.
shareRosco drove a tank into it once.
"Just my way of getting through the day, the samaritans were engagged"
In the first couple of seasons, the Cadillac was seen more, as Boss was usually chauffeured in it. However, in later seasons, usually Boss is seen riding with Roscoe in the patrol car.
shareAs I recall, in the very first episode, Boss Hogg was shown fleeing from the Atlanta Police, and the Cadillac he was being driven in was black, not the white car seen in all later episodes.
shareAre you thinking of his brother Abraham Lincoln Hogg? He had the exact same car as Boss but it was black.
shareBoss just had a wife named LuLu. He also had a cousin named Dewey. That was the extent of his family on this show
shareHe also had a twin brother, Abraham Lincoln Hogg, Season 3 Episode 07 also portrayed by Sorrell Booke.
FYI: Dewey was his nephew. Cletus was his cousin. There was also other nephews, Hughie and Jamie Lee Hogg, and Roscoe was his brother in law.
Go watch the show. From previous posts it's obvious you never have.
Oh ok, my bad. I watched the show but it was a long time ago. I don't like to admit though I watched this. Its not cool anymore
shareI just saw an interesting article a few weeks ago. If I find the link I'll post it.
It said that one of Boss Hogg's limos was damaged in a season two episode, so it had to be replaced. That car lasted the entire rest of the show and has the distinction of being the longest lasting car on the show. The next longest was Jesse Duke's pickup which was replaced in season 3 or 4 and then lasted the remainder of the show.
The article went on to say that Jesse's pickup was bought by a collector. Boss's limo was scrapped at the end of the series.
Studios tend to be dirt cheap in terms of production including the use of vehicles. They wrecked no more than they had to and if a script called for a demolition they went out and found something that looked close and mixed in shots of the regular car. Those crying over the constant wrecking of Chrysler vehicles do not realize how dirt cheap those vehicles were in 1979 but even then there was a limit. It's not like they continually wrecked Camaro's and Mustang's. Nothing personal against Chrysler but that is how it was. During 1975 Chrysler had overstock at the Michigan state fairgrounds numbering into the hundreds of thousands so no doubt a bunch of Chargers, Monaco's, and others could be bought cheap.
