Why is Benson's desk in the kitchen?
I don't recall why he is in that space, was that when he was still butler?

He was in charge of running the household (not just the butler, he was the butler on Soap) and a large part of that is gonna be kitchen stuff, so why not the kitchen?

I think he should have had his own office. But then I am disrespectful to dirt.

When they promoted him to running the state budget, he got his own office.

Yes I see that in the later episodes, even has his own bathroom. And Kraus has the desk in the kitchen.

His office was small once he became Lt governor. Nowadays he'd have a much bigger office on tv. I noticed his bathroom in one of the episodes early this morning and it had a HUGE window right next to the toilet. The governor came thru that window when he thought there was someone breaking into Benson's office. Ok lets review, A HUGE WINDOW over the right shoulder of whoever was sitting on that toilet. I thought that was odd. The bathroom looked bigger and nicer than his office.
I always thought his little desk in the kitchen was weird too. No one could have handled all the affairs of the mansion with a desk that small. I guess back then they didnt have a big budget and we didnt think to notice. If you look at Bensons suits they werent flashy either. Basic polyester/cotton suits off the rack.
