How did the Governor's wife die . . .

In the pilot, he tells Benson that she was eaten by horses, because she was dressed for a costume party as the Sugar Plum Fairy covered in sugar cubes, and attacked by horses. I was hoping for a less ridiculous death scenario. Was there a different (better) explanation later?

Nope that was the only explaination ever given. He actually said that she was "eaten" by a horse. Seems to me like Katie would have been tramatized quite a bit more than she let on to be.

Yep, ridiculous indeed. But this was a spin-off from Soap after all.
