Benson Governor's Mansion
What home was used for the exterior shots of the Mansion ?
shareTVACRES says: "The exterior shots for the mansion seen on the TV series were actually from a Pasadena home located at 1365 S. Oakland Avenue."

I thought the same thing. It looks like the Fresh Prince house.
Hug It Out, Bitch!
It also makes a brief appearance (about three seconds) in a current RE/MAX real estate ad, right after the little girl says, "i wish we had a bigger house."
I first saw thia ad a few months ago, soon after TVLand started airing Benson, and I remember doing about three double-takes when I saw "The House."
I live in Pasadena and can confirm that the Governor's mansion is indeed on Oakland St. in Pasadena. Incidentally, right across the street from it is the Beverly Hillbillies mansion (the movie version). One block over is the mansion from Chinatown, where the water commissioner lived. That's a toney part of town.
