'Benson' sings

Does anyone remember the episode where Robert sang "O Holy Night"? I'd like to find a copy of it, or see the episode again. I think it could be the best performance of the song that I've ever seen! I can't seem to find even a mention of it anywhere. Thanks (in advance)!

I have it on a barely watchable VHS tape that was bare wire copied from a Dish Network DVR. Sound works well enough and it might be the best vocal performance I've ever heard. Gives me a tear every time I queue it up.

It is from the episode "Mary and her little lambs" or something close to it. It is not on the Season 1 DVD.

Yes, I have a couple copies of that, one on VHS taped 20+ years ago (decent quality) and another taped a year or so ago off TV Land when they had their 'Benson Marathon' (excellent quality).

And I agree... he sounds nothing short of incredible - great voice.

I'm pretty sure it's this episode:

I just checked back (very sorry it has been so long), and I really appreciate the responses to my question! Many, many thanks, folks! I still remember getting chills listening to his version, but I haven't seen or heard it in years! Time for me to start digging again!

"so, what happened .. did your balls just DROP OFF"? Heath Ledger, (R.I.P.)!

Robert Guillaume has one of the purest sounding voices out there. I hate that I never got to hear him perform "The Phantom of the Opera" while he was in the cast. I do think it's odd that in "The Lion King", a movie with a lot of great music, they didn't use Mr. Guillaume for any of the songs. Especially with his wonderful voice. I think if he had sung "The Circle of Life" at the beginning, it would have been a much more powerful opening to the film. Just my little two cents.

And I do agree. His performance of "O Holy Night" is incredibly moving.

Although he does get a song in "Lion King II, Simba's Pride"
