I still haven't seen the episode where Edith dies

They have pretty much stopped airing this show. I saw it when it was on, but I always missed that one episode. I want to see that episode, why can't TVLand air the episodes again.

hopefully there will be a release of season 2 of archie bunkers place it has been about a year since they released season 1 that was the first episode of season 2.

there isn't a episode where we see that Edith dies. She dies off camera during the break between season one and two I believe. The first episode we see after her death is after the funeral and Archie is dealing with getting all of her stuff together to go to charity, and him a Stephine dealing with the loss.

I thought there was an episode where she's laying the bed, dead and Archie tries to wake her up but she won't.

Edith had a health scare and the episode ended w/ Archie & Edith in bed together, Arch saying something to the effect of "don't ever do that to me again".

Actually, you're thinking of how in that episode Archie starts talking to Edith's pillow (as one would talk to a gravestone or the sky to talk to a dead loved one) and recalls how she didn't wake up. Edith had already been buried at the start of the episode.

It was her slipper, not pillow.

That episode was very sad. He found her slipper, and started talking to it as if it were Edith. He treated her like crap for years. Calling her dingbat and telling her to shut up all the time. She took it in stride, and just dealt with it. One of my favorite episodes, I think it was in the original series, has her frequenting the bar. They love her there, and she is having a ball. She is playing the piano and having a grand time. Archie gets jealous and tries to drag her out of there. He says something like "lets go to that new place....we'll have a date night once a week" or something to that effect. Edith turns around and says "If for some reason Archie can't work it out, I'll be back!" Archie had always said, he was too busy, too tired, etc. to take out Edith. I thought that retort was priceless. As the seasons progressed, Edith stood up for herself in subtle ways. It's too bad Archie didn't appreciate her until she was literally gone. I believe Edith also got her way regarding Stephanie. In another episode, they went to deliver her to her father. It was a pathetic scene. He tried to extort money from the Bunkers because he knew they wanted her. Archie realized, almost too late, that Stephanie was better off with them. Archie realized that Stephanies father was a boozing loser and told Edith to collect Stephanie because they were going home. My memory may be fuzzy on this, but you get the idea......

I remember this episode....I thought it was one of the best ones. I like it when comedies throw in some drama to make it one of those "very special episodes...". I remember Archie being sensitive to Edith's needs which was very uncommon on that show. Isn't Archie the one who decided to keep Stephanie before Edith could stand her ground anyway? I haven't seen this one in awhile, and seem to remember Archie taking the high road....

Why did the calliope crash to the ground? Was it blinded by the light?

There was never an actual episode where she died. The 2nd season opener was about the aftermath of her death. I'd love to see the show on TV Land again.

I never got to see that episode either

Must get out of Alcatraz with all these men all over each other....Must get to San francisco...

I think i'll never, ever see it. Archie and Edith were one of the most lovable couples ever on TV, Archie's Place really hit rock bottom when the scripters killed Edith off and made us watch funny man Archie in excruciating pain. That show should never been made, it wasn't half as funny as AITF to begin with.

If you go on youtube, you will at least be able to see the last 10 minutes of the episode where Archie grieves Edith's death. I know it is not as good as seeing everything but it's better than nothing.

I'm still pissed that it's been nearly four years since season 1 came out on DVD and still seasons 2 - 4 haven't come out at all. How stupid!
