Why not Charles Grodin?
Does anyone know why he didnt reprise his role? I really liked Alan Alda in this role though, even if it was almost a little too Hawkeye-ish LOL

Yes, according to Ellen Burstyn's memoir the studios did not feel Charles Grodin could bring in the box office $$ that Alan Alda could.
shareWonder why they felt this since Alda was known more for TV and though Grodin wasn't big in movies was probably known more by movie going audiences (Heartbreak Kid, Rosemary's Baby, etc.)?
