Last line in "Magic"

I just re-watched the film, "Magic", with Anthony Hopkins, last night and have been trying to figure out what Ann--Margaret's line is at the very end. It turns out someone else had the same question 14 years ago!!! I read all the answers and still wonder about the meaning. I guess I'll just watch it again and draw my own conclusions. Thanks to all. Happy New Year!!! JoyđŸ˜ș

It’s the film’s weakest moment, and ending that leaves the movie, in the words of one reviewer, “One scare short.” What I notice is two details, motifs that had been previouslynestablished:

1. She throws some object (rock, piece of wood) up in the air and catches it, just as Corky had done in the tree’s shadow watching her descend the steps at their high school. His object was a wooden heart he had carved but lost before getting the chance to present it to her.

2. Her calling out “You might never get this oppor-fuckin’-tunity again!” is both an invitation to continue their relationship, and a nod to Fats’ signature cuss line, showing that unlike his agent she can accept his “friend” in their relationship. Which means the murders were unnecessary, as Corky has found someone to accept him with all his self- described “failures.”
