Anyone else see the trailer for this on TV during the mid-80s?

I distinctly recall seeing the TV spot for Magic on TV while I was a kid in the mid- to late 80s but the film clearly released in theaters well before that. Was there a limited re-release in theaters or just possibly a scheduled broadcast on network? I want to say it was this spot or a very similar one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjKHbdQRHeo

I just remember covering my eyes and my brother trying to force me to watch it when it came on.

Yer,I distinctly remember watching this back in 1985 when I was 17.I remember being 'creeped out' by the dummy.Watching it for the second time now,it's dated so much,but I love Hopkins acting even more,even though,his fashion choice in sweaters and cardigans were so to speak,a little annoying.

You didn't see a trailer for it on TV in the 80s because it was in theaters in the late 70s.
