Anthony Hopkins's performance never gets old. Primarily the scene in which he tries to go for two minutes or whatever it is without allowing Fats to talk...that one scene is simply some of the best acting I have ever seen in any film. When he says he is not going to make it...yikes.

Dated how? Like things such as the Johnny Carson Show and other celebs they mention? It definitely has a '70s vibe like that, but I don't think of that kind of dating as a negative thing.

Dated? Yes, it is "dated", it was released more than 38 years ago. It makes no sense to say something is dated when its age is known. Saying a movie is dated would be like saying a new movie is dated because its content is out of date or it is a failure because it is made like an old movie when it should have been produced in a modern style.
