need help finding a movie name

im wondering if someone here can help me find a movie, i only saw a little of it, and this is what i can remember from back in the 80s:
it had a giant that carried around his normal sized mother who was a witch or a sorceress or something, and the giant i think was to marry a princess, not by her choice, in the hall where the ceremony was to take place there were chairs that had what looked like paper cut outs, and the mother used magic to make them sit up straight like they were the wedding guests, it had a similar animation style to the movie this board is for i think, does anyone have any idea what movie this is im looking for?
