DVD gone out of print?

It looks to me judging from the prices on Amazon that this DVD has gone out of print. Maybe a precursor to a new reissue, to take advantage of the upcoming live action "Hobbit," maybe with the soundtrack problems fixed? I'm hopeful...

I'd love for a bluray to be released, I haven't had the chance to show this to my kids yet.

Blu-Ray sometime soon hopefully!

There is an unofficial DVD out there that has all the missing audio put back in. It's an actual dvd, not a dvd rip/avi.

maxr543, the concept of an unofficial DVD with all the audio intrigues me. How does one track that down?

reply

Do a search for "the hi-fi hobbit". You should be able to find it easily.

Thank you good sir!

You can find it on YouTube.

While nothing has been announced yet, I'm really hoping someone takes advantage of the movie coming out in December and releases it on bluray in time for the holidays.

Only the original clamshell video release has the full soundtrack & sound fx intact where they ought to be. I have the DVD & would rather just have another copy of my coveted clamshell I own.

Guess I better take better care of mine! Plus the Lord of the Rings by Bakshi with Anthony Daniels as Legolas, and the Return of the King by Bass & Rankin. I also bought the extended cut of the Lord of the Rings by Peter Jackson. I'm definitely not going to see Jackson's Hobbit. 9 hours for a 300 page book? Why did he put 12 hours in a book that had to be split into 3 parts?

What did you report, Blueghost?

Ah, someone tried to reply to me. Regrettably you are on my ignore list for some reason. I may have placed you there intentionally, or reported one of your posts in the past.

Either way I can't see what you wrote, and, based on what I know about people on my ignore list, you deserve to be there.

Thanks anyway.
