Sandy's incorrect DISCO shoes !

This has come up before on here, maybe?
So this movie is set in the 1950s and when Sandy emerges as " Tight Black Sandy" at the end; why the *beep* is she wearing Candies (Disco Era - synthetic pumps) on her cute little feet? I mean c'mon. Debbie Harry wore these around the time "Heart of Glass" was a hit as well.
This is a large budget Hollywood movie with a professional costume department. Sandy would have, more likely work black Italian boots, black pumps or those Catwoman boots, short pointy and spikey. They were popular back then. I think. I mean - every other costume was perfect from head to toe- why FLUB your lead character...at the CLIMAX of a movie??????
