It's a seventies party and everyone is invited

Man, this is like a time warp to the late seventies. Women running around braless, men with big hair, disco, and Barry Manilow. It's a throwback to Alfred Hitchcock movies with a comedic touch and a splash of 1970s San Francisco.

I have nostalgia for this one as my mom loves Goldie Hawn, so watching it again was very nostalgic. She is truly delightful here as a single woman in the big city who is tossed into an assassination plot. Half the fun is seeing her accidentally get out of sticky situations. This is the Goldie Hawn that took the world by storm in the 70s and never looked back.

The rest of the cast brings it as well. Chevy Chase holds his own in a straight-man-ish role as the detective who is trying to help and get in her pants at the same time. The extended cast includes Burgess Meredith, Brian Dennehy, and a bunch of other people you'll instantly recognize.

The true highlight is Dudley Moore in an extended cameo as a deviant sexual pervert who has no idea what's going on. I believe this is the role that got him his break across the pond.

A random stranger's opinion: Peak Goldie and Chevy, a fun mystery, solid pacing, and some Manilow is always a fun ride. It's definitely worth a rental.

Saw it when it came out and felt sort of underwhelmed. People were like "Chevy Chase! You left a great job at SNL just to make this?".
