If I'm not mistaken they were both written by the same person. I agree, both movies are a couple of my favorites from the '70s.

Colin Higgins wrote both movies. And they are both fun Hitchcock tributes.

I own both and prefer Silver Streak--I thought Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor were a great team.

It is kinda similar, but I think SS is much better.
But I also think Seems Like Old Times is a much better Hawn/Chase teamup. At least a lot more fun.
